Collect, train, deploy on the same hardware
The platform is a leader–follower teleoperation station in the ALOHA layout. The same X5 arms that record demonstrations run the trained policy afterwards.
- TeleoperateHold the two leader arms; the X5 followers mirror your motion in real time over CAN.
- RecordJoint states, gripper commands, the mast camera and wrist cameras are logged per episode.
- TrainUse the episodes with ACT, Diffusion Policy, LeRobot-style pipelines or to fine-tune a VLA model.
- DeploySend actions back to the same arms with the joint or Cartesian controller in arx5-sdk.

Software: Python from day one
No vendor lock-in. The X5 arms are driven by open-source code that many labs already use.
- arx5-sdk (Stanford REAL Lab): pip install arx5-interface; Python 3.8–3.14, x86_64 and aarch64; 500 Hz joint control; joint and Cartesian controllers; keyboard and SpaceMouse teleoperation and teach-and-replay examples; examples/test_bimanual.py runs both arms from one PC.
- ARX X5 SDK and ARX_Model on GitHub: ARX's own Python SDK plus URDF and STEP files for simulation and planning.
- Data pipeline: ARX's collect–train–deploy workflow on ROS 2 / Ubuntu 24.04.

Used in published robot-learning work
ARX arms appear in open research on imitation learning, mobile manipulation and VLA fine-tuning. A few examples (listing does not imply endorsement by the authors):

Request quote / POQuestions before you order
What is included in the price?
Two ARX X5 follower arms (6 joints plus gripper each), two leader arms, a top mast camera, wrist cameras, the base, and open-source software. We confirm the full packing list and cable set on your order confirmation.
Does the price include shipping?
No. The platform price excludes freight. Ground freight from our US warehouse is quoted by ZIP code and either added at checkout (when a flat rate is shown) or invoiced separately before shipment; we confirm the cost before anything ships.
How does the $5,999 launch price work?
The first 10 platforms sold in this store are $5,999 each. The counter on the product page shows how many launch units are left; once they are gone the price is $6,999 per platform. Launch units are allocated in order of payment or approved purchase order.
Where does it ship from, and how long does delivery take?
From our warehouse in the United States. Orders to the contiguous US typically arrive within 3–7 business days by ground freight. There are no import duties, customs forms or brokerage fees for US customers.
Can my university pay by purchase order?
Yes. Use the quote / PO form on this page. We reply with a formal quote, W-9 and vendor details, then invoice in US dollars against your PO. Wire transfer and ACH are also accepted.
Which arms are the followers, and what can they lift?
ARX X5 arms: 6 joints plus a gripper, torque sensing at every joint, about 1 kg peak payload, about 780 mm arm span from the base to the gripper tip, and about 3.4 kg per arm with the gripper.
How do I control it from Python?
Both X5 follower arms run from one computer over CAN (can0 and can1) with the open-source arx5-sdk from Stanford's REAL Lab (pip install arx5-interface; Python 3.8–3.14, x86_64 and aarch64; 500 Hz joint control, joint and Cartesian controllers). ARX also publishes its own X5 Python SDK and URDF/STEP models on GitHub.
What computer does it need?
ARX recommends Ubuntu 24.04 with an NVIDIA graphics card for its data-collection pipeline. The arms connect through USB-CAN or EtherCAT-CAN adapters. We confirm the exact requirements for your configuration with the order.
Is it compatible with ALOHA-style data collection and LeRobot?
The platform is a leader–follower station in the ALOHA layout: you move the two leader arms by hand and the X5 arms copy the motion while the cameras record. Recorded episodes can be used with ACT, Diffusion Policy, LeRobot-style pipelines and VLA fine-tuning; the arx5-sdk exposes joint states and commands in Python.
Is there sales tax?
Sales tax is calculated at checkout where we are required to collect it. Tax-exempt institutions can send their exemption certificate with a PO order.
What about warranty and support?
Warranty and support terms are stated on your quote and order confirmation. Email [email protected] before you buy if you need the current terms in writing for procurement.
Who is ARX Global?
ARX Global is the global sales company of ARX Infinity (Beijing), the maker of the X5, R5, LIFT and AC series. We sell and support ARX hardware globally and stock this platform in the United States.
